Dr. Liviu Ioan Bordas, Romanian Fulbright Scholar in 2012-2013 at the University of Chicago, published an article entitled “The Magic Fact and the Mystic Fact: Eliade’s First Encounter with the Works of Evola” in the collective volume Mircea Eliade. Myth, Religion, and History, edited by Nicolae Babuts, Transaction Publishers, New Brunswick - London, 2014 (http://www.transactionpub.com/title/Mircea-Eliade-978-1-4128-5299-9.html). Nicolae Babuts, Robert Ellwood, Eric Ziolkowski, John Dadosky, Robert Segal, Mac Linscott Ricketts, Douglas Allen, and Liviu Bordaş examine Eliade’s views on the interaction between the sacred and the profane.

Making the Fulbright Student Application: Tips and Suggestions

Students intending to apply to the Fulbright Student Award had a chance to clarify their application questions at the webinar carried out on the Watchitoo platform on April 10.

Felix Zaharia, Fulbright Alumnus (Harvard University) put emphasis on the importance of the essays in terms of structure, approach and style. He recommended the participants to make their essays targeted and organized.

Ana Sherrod, US Fulbright grantee (Pepperdine University) came up with several examples and tips as regards crafting high-quality essay(s): addressing a specific idea such as - a personally relevant story or a life turning point, including a unique perspective or identifying the personal contribution to the chosen field of study, paying attention to the logical flow of thoughts. In addition, Anna offered advice concerning the letters of reference and finding the most suitable recommenders.

Aniversare smallOn May 30 the Romanian-U.S. Fulbright Commission celebrated its 20th anniversary among distinguished friends, elite educators, and staunch supporters. The anniversary brought together a comprehensive range of experts in all fields who have taken part in the exchange program over the years or who have acted as stakeholders and supporters of the well-loved program. The ceremony attracted ministers, rectors, diplomats, and CEOs alongside U.S. and Romanian  grantees, alumni and  academia dedicated to educational exchanges.
