International Education Week 2019: Fulbright ETA Connects with Students @ “I.L. Caragiale” National College

On Monday, November 18, in celebration of International Education Week, the FEAC-EducationUSA team accompanied Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Allen Chen for an event dedicated to the U.S. education higher education system, kindly hosted by “Ion Luca Caragiale” National College in Bucharest.
Allen delivered an engaging presentation on liberal arts colleges, also drawing on his personal experience as a graduate of Occidental College, and encouraged the participants to do a thorough research when working on their school selection.
The students, mainly 9th and 10th graders, were excited to learn more about the benefits of the liberal arts model and asked insightful questions, on topics ranging from the differences between liberal arts colleges and research universities to laying the best foundation for a graduate program.
They were also happy to learn about the resources awaiting them at FEAC-EducationUSA and ways we can help them in preparing strong applications to undergraduate and graduate programs in the U.S.
Many thanks to Allen, for kindly agreeing to join us as a speaker, and to Delia Dumitriu, dedicated teacher and FEAC friend, for her gracious support in organizing this event!
