International Poetry Circle

To combat feelings of loneliness and isolation during this trying time, Fulbright alumna Tara Skurtu started the International Poetry Circle, a global initiative that invites poets and poetry lovers to record videos of themselves reading poems.

Since the start of this initiative, in mid-March, around 2000 videos, in over 15 languages, have been shared on all social media platforms, including videos by poets and public figures such as Ada Limón, Joyce Peseroff, Lloyd Schwartz, Maggie Smith, Saul Williams, Dolly Parton, David Gray, Hozier, Lana Del Rey, Rhett Miller, and many others.

To join Tara’s initiative, follow these easy steps:
✔️Record a video of yourself reading a poem.
✔️Post it on social media with the hashtag #InternationalPoetryCircle.
✔️For increased accessibility: Add captions or a photo/link to the poem for people to read.
