On March 10, 2020, the Fulbright Commission had the pleasure of hosting once again the annual American Studies Student Conference organized by the English Department of the University of Bucharest. This year’s edition saw a significant increase in the number of participants, with more than 20 participants, several of whom came from around the country, from Timisoara to Iasi, Constanta and Brasov. The quality of the papers and the dynamic presentation style were highly appreciated by the audience, while the conference jury had the difficult task of nominating only one paper – written and presented by Ruxandra Gîdei, 2nd year English major – as the winner of the “Dan Grigorescu” Award for the best American Studies conference paper.
